Mississippi John Hurt
John Hurt was rediscovered during the sixties folk revival. He had made a handful of recordings before the Depression hit and derailed his career. He was a wonderful musician, my inspiration as a guitarist and a truly gentle man. I shot this picture in 1965 and it's still my favorite portrait.
